My Testimony on Becoming a Bible Believer

I went through a period of time when I was studying about ten hours a day from at least three translations. I had been taught in college that "older and more reliable manuscripts" were found.

They are not older and they most definitely are not more reliable, but that was my reason for studying other than the KJB and also I just did not know any better. Anyway, I got to a point where I found that the "new translations" contradicted each other and that they also had contradictions within themselves. I'll never forget it! One day I had three translations open and read three different things in the same verse. That did it! I mumbled a prayer, "God I believe in you, but I cannot believe these Bibles anymore." I was hurt and hurt bad. God was faithful; he answered that sorry excuse for a prayer.

I was going to college at the time also and taking a New Testament class. My faith in God's word further got shattered there. I learned for the first time that the King James Bible did not first come out till 1611. They told me things like the oldest manuscript we had was a fragment from about 90 A.D. believed to be an actual original of John. They also told me there were "older and more reliable" manuscripts found since the KJB was written (which is a gross lie at best). I was falling apart about this time not knowing what I was to do with no Bible, no word of God to guide me anymore. Once I saw the one place that was different in the different versions I started seeing many.

About two weeks after the little prayer I said a friend I had not seen in quite awhile showed up where I was at, (a miracle in itself). We got on the topic of the different translations. I proceeded to tell him about the "older and more reliable" manuscripts. This brother was patient in hearing me out and then proceeded to tell me a few things. There is one thing you do not say to a true Bible Believer, that is, tell him about the "older and more reliable" manuscripts and expect him to be silent about the truth!

First he told me of God's promises to keep his word pure and preserved forever for us. Then he went on to tell me about the differences in manuscripts, the two different lines (a good line and a corrupt line), and gave me a book to read. Within a couple of days I became a Bible Believer and confessed my sin of reading and promoting the "new translations" as God's word.

Then another miracle happened. God Almighty removed the scales from my eyes and the King James Bible of 1611, God's word in English, opened up to me. I was amazed and in tears of joy, giving praise to God in the most wonderful name of Jesus. What I once could not see, I could now see! What I could not understand before, God started giving me understanding! Where I once thought there were contradictions in the KJB, mostly from listening to other people, I found that they were not contradictions at all! There are still areas that I do not have answers for, but that is OK, because I know that the real Bible is correct and in time God's time he will give me more answers. My job is to read and believe it, not question it or him! Once I took that attitude my whole life changed, ten fold for the better.

God led me into "rightly dividing the word of truth" and I now see why there are so many heresies and different denominations around. I now know what promises belong to me and those that belong to others in different dispensations. I now understand why I would try to "claim" a promise, believe it with all my heart, and still fall -- it did not belong to me. Many other blessings have come to me from God since I have become a Bible Believer. They might not and probably would not have come to pass had I stayed in my sin of reading and promoting things that call themselves Bibles and are not. They are from "the synagogue of Satan." They are not God's infallible word. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." (II Corinthians 6:17) We have "him" (Hebrews 4:13) in the King James Bible for the English speaking people. It is producing the kind of fruit that will not be burned in the fire! (I Corinthians 3:13-15)
